Teaching Background
More than just teaching certain skills and movements, I like to show riders how to think like a horse trainer and dynamically troubleshoot problems as they arise. I have an eye for spotting what's going wrong and explaining it in a way that the rider actually understands. My goal is to make the confusing and often frustrating world of dressage riding easy for everyone!
"Hannah is the best teacher I've ever had. She knows just when to push, when to encourage, and how to explain things in a way that makes sense. She's helped me come much farther than I ever thought possible, and has a great sense of humor along the way, which helps me stay positive!" - Terry C.
Clinics / Coaching
Dressage Clinics
Dressage clinics focus on the solid foundation of the Classical Training Scale. Focusing on correct biomechanics, I use the movements in the different levels to create a relaxed, swinging back, and get increased impulsion and expression with an approach that is tailored to each horse and rider. With a special focus on developing a soft and supple horse that responds to the rider's cues with willingness and lightness, horses are trained to go off the rider's legs, have a soft contact with the bit, and remain shapeable throughout the movements and transitions.
"Advanced riding is nothing more than better basics."
Dressage Foundations for other sports clinics
For hunters, jumpers, eventers, and other sports who want to improve their overall control and handling on their horses, these clinics go into the core principles of riding well, and can be applied to any sport. Elements like controlling collection vs. reach, suppleness through the body and neck, improving responsiveness and unlocking powerful half-halts, and more. You and your horse will come out of this clinic with a much closer form of communication and understanding!
Ride a Test Clinics
Want to take a test run at a level before entering a competition? These clinics allow you to ride your test of choice at the beginning and receive a score card. From there, we walk through areas of improvement and work through them together in a lesson. At the end of your session, you ride your test again and receive another score card to see your improvement.

"Hannah is an excellent coach. She can take a clinic full of riders at different levels, and give each person exactly what they need for their situation, so the greener riders aren't overwhelmed, and the advanced riders are challenged. Everybody comes away feeling like they've had a private lesson. We get exactly what we need." - Tammy W.
"There are so many different ways to explain things, and Hannah is great at finding different ways to approach a topic so the rider "gets it." I'm learning why we do certain exercises, and that really helps." - Emily S.
